knock knock...
with the public outcry, it's surprising how silent our govt has been on this issue. even at the press conference whereby khaw boon wan announced the appointment of an interim board for nkf in the next few days, he repeatedly emphasized dat it was nkf who approached him to help restore public confidence. if u ask me, it's durai's way of exiting the show graciously by hiding behind the back of the health minister. i think khaw would rather hv gone for dinner den stay back to block all the firing shots of the journalists. n i must say dat he did an excellent job at a time like this... he was calm n collected thr' out the press conference. clear bout his directions n had a fantastic grasp of wat was to come. havent seen a minister so clearly driven n at the same time, still had the wits to b funny in such a tense situation.definitely someone dat can b counted on. no doubts bout dat.
the past 2 days hv been really intense... can't rem the last time singaporeans were so united and vocal in their views on a single issue. i tink every singaporean has got someting 2 say bout it... for once, it seems like singaporeans do care... but probably coz at one point or other, all hv contributed 2 the nkf. it was something so very close to the heart.
but it was disgusting how some hv chosen to express their opinions... like those who vandalised the nkf compound... jux showed how immature some of us r... n others who make snide remarks on the petition website. it was so contrary to the initial purpose of the originator, Lawrence Tan, who wanted to make his point heard in the most gentlemanly manner... but i must say the comments posted were really entertaining... let me share some...
there was this particular one dat was addressed 2 the senior counsel davinder singh... the petitioner requested for the lawyer to fight for all donors so dat they can get their peanuts back n dat each will pay him a peanut... n there was some1 who signed off as mr. goh saying dat he wants a divorce... never knew singaporeans had such a good sense of humour... n there was also a signature from our friendly neighbour who said dat he thot dat only his countrymen were capable of shooting their mouths off... thr' this episode, he realised dat such ppl existed in sg too... woohoooo... i wonder who, i wonder y...
well... i guess this whole mayhem is gonna end in a wk or 2... let's learn dat a tiny ripple can amount to a tidal wave on this island yea... b4 u engage someone in a libel suit... know who u r fighting against n make sure ur conscience is truly clear otherwise u'll drag a whole truckload of ppl into the ditch together... n dun mention peanuts unless u wanna b monkeyed.
i hope singaporeans realise the strength of their combined voices n in future issues, continue to make themselves heard. this is solidarity man! rocks!
