knock knock...
gosh... was totally knocked out till 9 plus this morning... havent slept till this time for eons. could hv slept longer if not for the phone call! uuurrrggghhh... always get woken up by phone calls when i m sleeping... urrrggghhhh...
but if not for the phone call, i wouldnt hv woken up early enuff to go to the market to get the ingredients for mee soto. it turned out rather well... too bad HZ wasnt ard to taste it otherwise she would hv told me how it compares to mama's but it's relatively ez 2 prepare so i shall try it again when she's finally back... too bad i prepare too little of the rempah so din hv enuff to hv it for the entire day...
i really take my hat off mama... she used to prepare lots n lots of rempah by hand. initially i had wanted to prepare the rempah by hand... by the good ol' method of pounding with the pestle n mortar but it was sooooooooo painstaking so in the end, pounded everything slightly n used the food processor to further blend it into a finer paste. shall prepare more ingredients next time n add more spices to enhance the flavour... wish i had more time to cook. anyway, mee soto down, next up, assam pedas masak ikan pari... mindy, all the way!!!!
i was bushed by the time i finished with the stock. i wonder how mama found the energy to make begerdel as well... next time i shall prepare the whole package n hopefully hv enuff for those who r game enuff to try too... kekeke
HZ running out of cash in US meaning less gifts for me!!!! sooooo sad!!!! shd hv reminded her to bring papa's card... haizz...
gotta print out quiz questions later. lazy me... got sick of it after finishing chpt 19... c if i can continue later... wish i could come out with questions as fast as i go marketing. i realise my personal best time is half hour of shopping for each meal. fast neh!
must set aside time to prepares lots of sambal n rempah... ultimate project - buah keluak!!!! go go go!!
